Only a small percentage of new users posted in their first month. Through interviews, we found many were hesitant to share with strangers in the feed.
To address this, I introduced a new posting flow that let users choose their audience: all users, those nearby, or just their connections making it safer, more familiar space.
The original layout for creating post, tagging other, and adding hashtags was underused. I redesigned the layout to surface these features more clearly, improve discoverability, and align with accessibility standards.
Results
After the redesign, usage of post-enhancing features noticeably improved. The number of posts increased, and users began tagging others more frequently—fostering stronger community interaction.
